In my genealogy research, I use a Master Log to keep track of what I have done, and what I intend to do next time.
After finishing a session in a person’s research log, I will make an entry in that RL of what I have done. Then, I copy that info into my Master Log.
In this way, I keep a history of what research I do with an individual or a couple, AND a running history of what I do with many people or any activity at all. It is a way or leaving myself notes of what to do when I come back to it.
This file is very basic, but it works great.
